Caraway seeds or fruits are from the plant carum carvi , which is cultivated in America, and other countries is formerly or originally from Asia, central and northern Europe and Africa. It has white and light pink flowers. The seeds are very aromatic and spicy. Caraway seeds look very similar to cumin seeds.

Caraway is used in breads and pastries and are also used to flavor certain cheeses. Caraway is also used to improve the flavor of pork, lamb, and other meats.It is also used in dishes that use cabbage and potatoes. Normally the caraway should be added to these various meats and vegetables before cooking. Caraway is also used as an ingredient in curries and curry powder.

The oil of the caraway is also used by producers of certain types of liqueurs. There are also some homeopathic medicinal uses of caraway throughout some cultures.
