Fenugreek, also called methi is a plant from the fabaceae family . India is one of the largest producers of fenugreek in the world, but its is also cultivated all over the world. Fenugreek can be used for its seeds or its leaves.

The leaves of the fenugreek are eaten fresh or raw or dried and used in dishes and even as a tea. The seeds are ground and used as an ingredient in curry powder.

Fenugreek is found in soups, pastes and in rice dishes. It is sometimes used as an ingredient to certain clarified butters like ghee.

Fenugreek has a unique maple-like flavor and is sometimes used to replace more expensive maple flavored foods as a substitute.Because of its particular flavor, fenugreek seeds are oftentimes used in desserts and confections.Fenugreek has also been used for ancient and modern medicinal purposes.
