Ceylon or Sri Lanka cinnamon is the best quality of cinnamon and is referred to as "true cinnamon". It has been grown and harvested there for centuries. Cinnamon is used in various curries in India, as well as an ingredient in curry powder.

Cassia or cinnamomum aromaticum is grown in China and is a close relative of Ceylon cinnamon called cinnamomum verum. the true cinnamon.

Cinnamon is one of the oldest known spices. It is mentioned in the Bible in the Old Testament. It has been used for incense and as an aromatic ingredient for candles. In ancient times it was used to perfume beds, or as an incense to offer Roman gods.

Cinnamon or cinnamomum is an evergreen of the laurel family and is prepared from the bark of the tree that can grow from 30 to 50 feet tall. The leaves of the cinnamon tree have long, ovate leaves with at times. yellow blossoms and acorn shaped fruit.

Cinnamon oil is extracted from various parts of the entire cinnamon tree and is sometimes used medicinally, and has been known to help certain types of diabetes.
